MDDGA Open group

The third annual MDDGA Open was a huge success. Twenty one golfers took on

the course on Saturday and Sunday. Saturday was a gorgeous day with perfect

weather for golf. Dennis Berrigan had the low net round of the day with a gross 86.

All of the recent rain made the course in perfect condition with lush rough and

perfect greens. Everyone retired to the clubhouse for dinner and fun was had by all

throughout the evening. Timothy Dapp had the low gross score of the day with an 83.

Sunday dawned with clouds floating in the sky. All 21 golfers braved the

dour weather and teed it up for the second day of the tournament. The clouds

did not disappoint and anointed the MDDGA Open with a healthy dose of rain

during the middle of the round. Rainpants, jackets, and umbrellas were a common

sight throughout the round. The sun finally made an appearance during the end of the

round and the competition heated up for the low gross award. Ben and Tim battled

it out all the way to the 18th hole where Timothy won by one single shot. Dennis

won the net division by a magnificent margin of 11 strokes. What a round and what

a day!

Everyone retired to the club house where the awards were given out to the players.

One benevolent MDDGA member was kind enough to buy pitchers of beer for everyone.

The group mingled forth and downed lots of beers and smoked many a cigar.

Fun was had by all and all is looking forward to next year! See you there.
